How to calibrate yourself a temperature recorder with the JRI-MySirius monitoring software ?
Calibration is essential to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the sensors.
As a comprehensive and scalable software for monitoring temperature, JRI-MySirius also integrates the metrology management.
To meet needs of users who internalize metrology, JRI has developed an easy and quick method to calibrate the LoRa SPY long-range connected sensors and Nano SPY mini temperature dataloggers. The process allows also to:
- simultaneously calibrate several measurement chains
- make each measurement chain compliant with MPE
- adjust in order to decrease the accuracy error of each probe
Collect measurements from temperature recorders
To start the calibration process, it can be necessary to decrease the measuring period of the sensor on the JRI-MySirius application.
Once the measurement chain immersed in the calibration environment (bath, oven...), the temperature data can be collected during a well-defined period.
The next step is very simple, just use the data export function.
Quite easy to fulfil, you don’t have to disconnect the temperature recorders to connect them to another software.
The Nano SPY Reference and LoRa SPY Reference models are designed to perform calibration of the recorders of their respective ranges.
They allow to recover the measurements in same time, with the same measurement interval. Since the time base is the same, there is no data lag.
Calibration certificate and checking report edition
The Metrolog2 Calibration software allows to compile data in order to edit the calibration certificate.
By importing data from the JRI-MySirius application, it is possible to edit the calibration certificate and also the checking report.
The used uncertainty calculation is taken from UGM - Universal Guide of Metrology for the expression of measurement uncertainty - and validated by the ISO 17025 accredited laboratory of metrology of JRI.
Metrolog2 Calibration proposes also to adjust each measurement chain to decrease the sensors’ MPE within optimized operation range.
This method allows to get measurement accuracy lower than ±0,2°C in an operation range of 20°C and is partially adapted for chambers with lowered MPE.
Traceability of the realized metrology operations
Once these operations realized, the recorder’s audit trail is automatically updated.
In the Metrology module, the JRI-MySirius application has a function to:
- add calibration certificates, checking reports and other metrology documents of each measurement chain,
- add mapping reports,
- configure metrology alerts.
Finally, all of these actions are indicated in the audit trail in the JRI-MySirius application and also in the Metrolog2 Calibration software.
The features allowing calibration are available from the 2.0 version of the JRI-MySirius application.
