The French freight network is equipped with nearly 2.000 LoRa SPY digital temperature sensors with a protective shell. Installed in vehicles and agencies, they ensure a complete monitoring of temperature within parcels: from the pick-up to at the loader’s, during each transit steps in agencies and transport until the delivery at the recipient.
An operating procedure furthering transparency and quality
Via the French long-range operated LoRaWAN network, temperature measurements are sent to the secure JRI cloud. Then, data are integrated into the Heppner’s system via a web API.
The customers connect to a web portal allowing them to visualize the temperature curve throughout the transport and identify potential temperature excursions. Then, they can put in place efficient corrective actions and realize a comprehensive analysis of risks.
Data can be archived and be exported on a .xls file in order to perform complementary studies.
The calibration of the temperature probe is possible by disconnecting from the LoRa SPY Digital sensor and exchange with a new one already calibrated in the JRI metrology lab. The old probe is sent to JRI to be checked by the JRI metrologists.
