The MMS Group, a leading French metrology expert specialising in wireless temperature monitoring solutions for the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Food industries is reorganizing its capital to accelerate its technological developments, and consolidate its position as one of the international leaders in the digitalization of quality processes. The CEO Pascal Vermeersch, and the management team welcome IK Partners (IK Small Cap III Fund) as a new partner, acquiring its stake from Naxicap Partners and Caisse d’Epargne Île–de-France Capital Investissement.

 

Measuring, monitoring, data management, and metrology services : MMS - JRI - CIET Pharma covers the entire value chain for continuous quality control.

Designed to monitor the cold chain and other environmental parameters (humidity, pressure, CO2, particle counts, etc.) during the production, storage and transport of sensitive products, JRI's Internet of Things ("IoT") solutions use several radio technologies to guarantee reliability, precision and innovation.

The "JRI-Nano-SPY" and "JRI-LoRa-SPY" ranges of sensors are interfaced with a proprietary SaaS or server software platform "JRI-MySirius". The platform enables regulatory monitoring, secure data archiving and customizable alert management. It offers various software modules (hazard analysis, critical control points, maintenance, calibration, mapping, geolocation and deveolved admin portal / single sign on) and application programming interfaces to integrate with customers' business software platforms. It is tailored to the uses and regulatory constraints of each segment of the healthcare sector (pharmaceutical industry, biology, logistics) and food safety.

With the acquisition of Naocom in 2020, JRI has strenghtened and extented its portfolio of solutions for road transport. The integration of new technologies has enables the development of the "NanoCell" communication device in powered and autonomous versions, and compatibility with JRI-Nano-SPY connected sensors with long autonomy and memory capacity.

This offering is complemented by both upstream services (validation, mapping and metrological certification, consulting,...) and downstream services (installation, maintenance and metrological calibration), provided by the expert team of CIET Pharma. The company, acquired in 2017, specializes in qualification and metrology services for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

The Group employs overs 140 employees across four locations in France (including a site dedicated to assembling, calibration and logistics in Fesches-le-Châtel) as well as two locations abroad (USA and Malaysia). As a result, the Group has experienced strong international growth, with 50% of all sales generated outside of France. MMS serves a diversifies customer base of around 2,000 accounts in 65 countries through a global network of partners and distributors.

 

A new phase to accelerate development and internationalization, notably through acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

Leveraging a technological partnership with the world leader in in-vitro diagnostics and its range of solutions, JRI is enjoyins a string of successes, not only in all sectors of healthcare but also in the commercial catering and food distribution sectors. The MMS Group is actively seeking partners, either through mergers within the Group or through enhanced commercial and/or technological cooperation, with the dual aim of strengthening its international presence to better serve its customers (in addition to its current locations in the USA, Mexico, Malaysia and China) and continuing its technological innovations.

In addition to designing reliable and optimal solutions for monitoring health and food products throughout the production/processing, storage, and transport chain, MMS aims to meet the challenges of tomorrow by:

  • Providing solutions for all types of transport and covering the entire cold chain
  • Extending the digitalization of manual tasks specific to each business and strengthening partnerships with integrators building agnostic solutions for their customers
  • Offering financial solutions tailored to the constraints of its users (purchasins, provisioning, leasing, etc.)
  • Expanding its service offerings to take on tasks currently managed by its customers

The MMS Group was created in 2015 by Pascal Vermeersch to take over the JRI company in association with Eric Cartalas (CEO Commerce and Operations) and André Grezel (Technical Director), then Arnaud Daveau (CFO-HRD), Rémi Moreau (Quality-Metrology and Support Director), Natalie De Saeger (International Activities Director), Serge Nkemi (CIET Pharma Director) and around ten other managers. IK Partners, via its IK Small Cap III Fund, is becoming a major shareholder in the Group alongside Pascal Vermeersch and the management team.
